Although the Community Forest is a tenure that allows the management of timber and other resource values, all activities are carried out with a high degree of respect for the environment.

Environmental considerations, provisions and undertakings include:

.    Developing best management plans for watersheds
.    Identifying sensitive and unstable soils and terrain
.    Providing reserves for biodiversity at all scales
.    Working to ensure our forest harvest is sustainable
.    Careful road building and rehabilitation of non-permanent roads
.    Conservation of unique and fragile ecosystems
.    Delineation of conservative riparian management areas
.    Public site visits to all proposed harvesting areas to discuss appropriate management of site-specific environmental values
