Join the Sunshine Coast Community Forest's Community Advisory Panel on Thursday, November 26, 2026, for a special presentation and discussion on the New Forest Act. We are excited to welcome guest speakers Jennifer Houghton and Dave Weaver, RPF, who will be joining us to share their proposed framework to modernize forestry. Advanced by the Boundary Forest Watershed Stewardship Society, the New Forest Act has steadily gained a dedicated following within the BC forest conservation movement in recent years. Our guest speakers will present the principles behind this alternative model for forest management and stewardship.
Our Community Advisory Panel members will then ask questions and discuss how the New Forest Act approach relates to the Sunshine Coast Community Forest.
