About the event

We are calling on community members to roll up their sleeves and join the Sunshine Coast Community Forest (SCCF), the District of Sechelt, and SCRD's Firesmart team for a hands-on planting event! As part of our ongoing commitment to local climate resilience, we are working together to plant native species seedlings at Mission Point Park following a combination of invasive species removal, Firesmart treatments, and other maintenance which have left an opportunity for ecologically and culturally appropriate replanting. Enhancing parks with native vegetation restores natural habitats, builds long-term climate and ecosystem resilience, all while creating beautiful naturalized park spaces that intertwine with natural habitat.
