The Sunshine Coast Community Forest is pleased to release our 2025 Annual Report, sharing our activities of the past year with the community, and also looking at our 20 year anniversary as an invitation to reflect more broadly on twenty years of community forestry on the Sunshine Coast.

As a community-led and owned forestry organization, transparency and accountability are fundamental to our work. The Annual Report is an important opportunity to share how public resources are being managed, report on the outcomes of our activities, and demonstrate how revenues generated from the community forest are being reinvested to support ecological stewardship, community wellbeing, and long-term resilience.

Since the Community Forest Agreement K3F was first granted in 2006, the Sunshine Coast Community Forest has worked to balance ecological, social, cultural, and economic values while keeping local forests under local stewardship. Over the past two decades, that work has generated lasting benefits for our community, including more than $36 million in local spending, $2 million in Legacy Fund grants, 279,000 trees planted, and ongoing investments in recreation, education, and forest stewardship.

The 2025 Annual Report highlights a year of significant progress. Key accomplishments include the renewal of our Forest Stewardship Plan, continued implementation of Ecosystem Based Management, innovative harvesting projects such as standing stem helicopter harvesting, partnerships supporting wildfire resilience and workforce development, and ongoing investments in recreation, trail infrastructure, Indigenous-led land-based learning, and community engagement.

The report also reflects our continued commitment to keeping forestry local. In 2025, SCCF generated $1.47 million in revenue, spent $1.38 million with local businesses and contractors, maintained 15 kilometres of trails, invested in wildfire resilience and ecological stewardship, and supported community organizations through donations and partnerships.

As we look ahead, the report reflects our organizational focus on climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, community benefit, and increasing local influence over the management of local forests. With a newly adopted Strategic Plan and ongoing collaboration with community members, rights holders, governments, and partners, SCCF is well-positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities of the next twenty years.

We encourage community members to read the report, learn more about the work being undertaken under the leadership and oversight of their fellow community members, and explore the financial, environmental, and community outcomes delivered through the Sunshine Coast Community Forest over the past year.
