DIRECTOR TO RECEIVE AWARD

Tony Greenfield, a volunteer Director of the Sunshine Coast Community Forest since 2011, has been awarded the Governor General’s Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers in recognition of his many continuing volunteer efforts.  In addition to the Community Forest, Tony has been a volunteer instructor with Sunshine Coast Elder College for 13 years, is a founding member and current President of the Sunshine Coast Natural History Society, is a founding member of the B.C. Field Ornithologists and is currently Vice President of the Sargeant Bay Society.  Tony has organized the annual bird count on the Sunshine Coast for almost 40 years and has contributed a birding column to the Coast Reporter for many years.  We are proud to have Tony be part of our Community Forest family.
