What is a Forest Operations Map (FOM)?
Forest Operations Map is a BC Government Portal with an interactive map that shows specific areas where the SCCF or others are planning forestry activities like roadbuilding or harvesting.
The purpose is for the public to have the opportunity to see what’s happening, and submit comments.
These comments are visible not only to us, but to provincial and shíshálh staff involved in granting permits.

What is TU-5?
This is the area we currently have on the portal open for comments. This is a wildfire risk reduction treatment area adjacent to the Sechelt Airport, first published in 2024 in our Wildfire Tactical Planning Report, and featured in our Coast Reporter ads and shared at events over the past year.
Why is it being advertised now if it’s not new?
We are now ready to apply for permits to carry out the work planned in this area, and the FOM is a legal requirement.
