Dividend to Shareholder

At our Annual General Meeting on May 8, 2017 the Community Forest provided an extraordinary dividend to our Shareholder, the District of Sechelt, in the amount of $100,000.  This was an unusual provision given we lost money in 2016 due to very low volume being harvested and sold.  The normal protocol is to provide a dividend only in profitable years.  The dividend will be split with 50% being deposited into the SCCF Legacy Fund for future granting opportunities and 50% being held by the Shareholder and added to previously provided dividends.  The dividends provided from 2014 to today now total $400,000 and are being held by the Shareholder to be utilized at a future date for an as yet undecided project which will be beneficial to the community of Sechelt.
