On April 21, 2015 a cheque was presented to the Pender Harbour Advisory Council (PHAC) for building and erecting trailhead signs in the Pender Harbour / Egmont area. The Egmont/Pender Harbour area is a vast wilderness, home to three provincial parks and eight regional parks yet, other than the 37 Km of the SCRD Suncoaster Trail, the number of multi use trails that spur from this backbone are not well documented or sign posted, nor are there maps at trailheads to guide users. Enhancing signage throughout the trail systems will assist in marketing trails to tourist and will be more welcoming to all users. The Advisory Council is working with the Sunshine Coast Trails Society to ensure all signs are consistently themed.
The funds for this project were granted from the SCCF Legacy Fund. The project is ongoing and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
